

African Lawyers Alliance Programme
African Lawyers Alliance (ALA) is 2026 Fellowship Programme is aimed at empowering young African legal professionals by providing them with opportunities for professional development, mentorship, and networking. ALA’s mission is to address key challenges facing Africa’s legal professionals, including unemployment, lack of mentorship, and the rapid evolution of the legal sector due to technological changes.

Programme Overview:
ALA Programme aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and aims to:

Enhance skills and knowledge of legal professionals.

Expand professional networks across Africa.

Support career advancement and leadership within the legal profession.​

Programme Structure:

Duration: 6 - 9 months (March 2026 - October 2026).

Mentorship Pairs: One-on-one mentorship pairing of seasoned professionals (Mentors) with early- to mid-career legal professionals (Mentees).

Meeting Frequency: Minimum of 5 one-hour mentorship sessions throughout the year.

Executive group coaching.
-
Job shadowing opportunities.

Training on legal topics.

Eligibility for Mentees:

African legal professionals with 2-7 years of work experience.

Holder of an undergraduate law degree (LLB) from an accredited university.

Proficient in English (written and verbal).

Eligibility extends to citizens of any African Country.

Passion for self-development and growth within the legal space.

Commitment to active participation throughout the mentorship period.
Participant Selection: Participants will be selected based on:

Career interests and goals.

Skill sets and areas for development.

Personality and communication styles.

Regional location.
